ASLC Theater & Rez Lakefront Park

Enjoy an extra day this weekend, no classes this Monday for the Labor Day Holiday. Instead head over to the Askew Student Life Center for a movie, free for students. Showing this weekend is Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Friday at 8 p.m. and Saturday at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Or, spend an afternoon by the lake at the Rez: FSU's Lakefront Park & Outdoor Center. Take a swim or set sail on the water. Free kayak, canoe, and paddleboard rentals for students. Play sand volleyball or disc golf, scale our climbing wall, or just relax in the shade. Open 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Thursday through Monday. All free with your FSUCard.

Student Services Building, 2nd Floor

On and off-campus employers will converge on the Student Services Building for this fall's Part Time Job Fair.  The Fair takes place over two days: Wednesday, August 31 and Thursday, September 1 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. each day.  Stop by and learn how to apply for local jobs to earn money and add to your resume.

Online & Leach Center

Gather your friends and sign-up your team for our first Intramural Sports of the fall semester: 3-on-3 soccer, 3-on-3 basketball, 5-person team bowling, and pickleball doubles. Registration begins Wednesday, August 31 at 12 Noon at campusrec.fsu.edu/im.  Sign-up continues through September 7.

Meet team captains and leaders from each of FSU's 36 sport clubs at Sport Club Recruitment Night, Thursday, September 1 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m at the Leach Recreation Center. Learn how you can join one of our competitive club teams or just practice your skills around campus.

Multiple Events: August 29 - September 6

Connect with members from our Fraternity & Sorority Life councils this week. Online registration for IFC Rush ends Monday at 11:59 p.m at fsuifc.com. Chapter previews begin September 13 and rush week starts September 19.

It's NPHC Week. Join NPHC groups for a Day of Service, Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Kearney Center. Then, Wednesday, the NPHC Unity Step will take place at 12:30 p.m. in the Union Courtyard. Learn about NPHC groups at NPHC 101 this Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the GLOBE Auditorium. Then join in at NPHC Karaoke on Thursday starting at 6 p.m. in the Student Union or play in the NPHC Basketball Tournament Friday night at 6 p.m. at the Leach Center. Finally, next week, make plans to attend the MGC Showcase on Tuesday, September 6 at 6 p.m. also in the GLOBE Auditorium.

Doak Campbell Stadium

Support the Noles at the first home game of the year when FSU hosts Duquesne on Saturday afternoon at Doak. Be sure to get your free student ticket in advance through seminoles.com.

Get your gameday started at the Garnet and Gold Tailgate with free food, games, and music just outside the stadium at Legacy Fountain, next to Dick Howser (Baseball) Stadium.  The Garnet and Gold Tailgate starts at 3 p.m., always 2 hours before kickoff.

Monday-Friday, August 22-26

Florida State's mandatory first-day attendance policy means you must attend the first class session for each of your classes (if the class starts on Tuesday, then you must attend the Tuesday class). Miss class? You are subject to being dropped to make room for another student. 

Need help finding things on campus?  Look for our Ask a Nole tents around campus on Monday and Tuesday, staffed with FSU staff and students who can give you directions or answer other common campus questions!

Finish off your first week with a trio of events from the Center for Leadership & Social Change, Center for Global Engagement, and Student Organizations & Involvement. 

Relax in the Commons Courtyard outside the Askew Student Life Center at the First Week Unwind from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Connect with members of our global FSU Community at International Coffee Hour starting at 5 p.m. in the GLOBE Dining Room, then join the FSUnite Culture Fest at the Student Union from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.

Make adjustments to your fall class schedule this week during drop/add period, which ends Thursday, August 25 at 11:59 p.m.  Students are responsible for payment for any courses on their schedule after the deadline, so double-check to make sure your schedule matches what classes you plan to take!
